Ephraim Zinser Pursues Basketball Ambitions Beyond Ghana

Tudu:Ephraim Zinser Mac-Saawa, a seven-foot graduate of Abakrampa Senior High School, is well-known in Ngleshie Amanfro, where his height draws attention and curiosity from locals. Despite his prominence in the community, Ephraim is focused on a larger goal representing Ghana in international basketball competitions.

According to Ghana Web, Ephraim aspires to join Ghana's national basketball team and compete in global tournaments. Originally from Nandom Piina in the Upper West Region, his interest in sports began with volleyball during his basic school years, but by senior high school, basketball had captured his imagination. However, the absence of a basketball court at Abakrampa SHS initially hindered his training opportunities.

Recently, Ephraim has been training at the Magic Basketball Academy in Tudu, following an introduction facilitated by his father. He aims to develop his skills to perform well if given the chance to join the national team. Ephraim looks up to French basketball player Victor Wembanyama, particularly admiring his defensive skills and presence on the court.

While Ephraim's height is an advantage, he acknowledges that it alone will not secure a spot on a professional team. He seeks opportunities to improve his skills and compete for titles, though he currently faces challenges in accessing adequate training equipment.

Off the court, Ephraim's height poses challenges, especially when using public transport. He often experiences discomfort when seated at the back of vehicles, preferring the front seat for more legroom. He works at a printing press in Ngleshie Amanfro and plans to pursue a university education in Computer Science, aspiring to become a software engineer and develop educational applications for young learners.
