He stated, "I chair Cabinet, and I can tell you no new curriculum has come for approval by Cabinet," to clarify that any changes to the curriculum must be sanctioned by Cabinet and no such proposals are currently under consideration.
Mahama further questioned the practicality of introducing Chinese into the curriculum, citing existing challenges in adequately training French teachers, even though Ghana is surrounded by French-speaking countries. He remarked, "We're not even getting a handle on the teaching of French. Why would we go and introduce Chinese? Where are we even going to get Chinese teachers? Even French teachers are hard to find," highlighting the logistical and educational hurdles involved in such a move.
