Shatta Wale Declares Rift with Stonebwoy, Citing Past Misunderstanding

Accra: Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has revealed details of a past misunderstanding involving his godfather, businessman Kofi Abban, and fellow musician Stonebwoy.

According to Ghana Web, Shatta Wale stated that Stonebwoy reported Abban to Ghanaian-American singer and songwriter Amaarae's father after the businessman allegedly promised both artistes cars but only fulfilled the promise to him. Shatta Wale explained during a TikTok Live session that Stonebwoy was unhappy because he had not received his car, while Shatta Wale had already received his.

Shatta Wale criticised Stonebwoy over the incident and expressed disinterest in rebuilding their friendship, despite being willing to forgive him. He advised Stonebwoy to apologise to musician Sarkodie, asserting that a previous post by Sarkodie was misunderstood by Stonebwoy.

Shatta Wale further accused Stonebwoy of being ungrateful and urged him to refrain from airing their disagreements on social media. He emphasized his stance by stating, "I just don't want you to be my friend."

Acknowledging that nobody is perfect, Shatta Wale reflected on how others, including medical professionals and Sarkodie, have advised him during challenging times. "I'm not perfect, do you know how many times medical [sic] they advise me? You know how many times Sarkodie advise me?" he added.
