Accra: Prophet Telvin Sowah Adjei has announced his intention to guide Ghanaian youth towards responsible gold mining by unveiling what he claims are hidden gold deposits within the nation, presenting an alternative to illegal mining activities that damage the environment.
According to Ghana Web, the preacher conveyed his plans in a video circulating on social media, expressing his desire to lead the youth to locations where legitimate mining operations can be established, thereby steering them away from the detrimental practice of galamsey. He emphasized his aim to educate young people on discovering "proper gold" rather than engaging in activities that harm water bodies.
Prophet Adjei asserted that there are seven specific locations in Ghana containing significant gold deposits, with some nuggets reportedly as large as three-storey buildings. He claimed to possess the knowledge to direct aspiring miners to these sites, promising unprecedented discoveries of gold.
He further explained that his awareness of these locations was revealed through a spiritual vision, and he intends to share this insight with Ghanaians to allow them to capitalize on these resources before foreign miners, particularly from China, identify the areas. In his vision, he saw foreign miners exploiting these deposits around 2040.
Prophet Adjei assured that he would provide detailed information on the locations, the necessary depth for mining, and other pertinent details. He emphasized that those who heed his guidance would uncover significant rock-hosted gold deposits, rather than engaging in less fruitful mining endeavors along river bodies.
