GFA Pressuring Barcelona’s Jesse Bisiwu to Choose Black Stars Over Belgium

Barcelona: The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is actively pursuing FC Barcelona winger Jesse Bisiwu, aiming to secure his commitment to play for the Black Stars instead of Belgium.

According to Ghana Web, the GFA has been in discussions with both Bisiwu and his representatives for several months, attempting to persuade him to join Ghana's national team. The association is reportedly considering including him in the Black Stars squad soon. Although Bisiwu has previously represented Belgium's U17 team, he is still eligible to play for Ghana due to his parental heritage.

The Belgian Football Association is said to be aware of the ongoing negotiations and is closely watching the situation, though no formal statements have been issued. Bisiwu has been performing well for Barcelona, gaining attention for his contributions on the field. The GFA believes his participation would be advantageous for the Black Stars as they aim to qualify for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and vie for the championship.
