Akatsi: The Avenor Community Bank PLC has reported a 9.79 per cent increase in its profit before tax for the year 2025, rising from GHS2.72 million in 2024 to GHS2.99 million. This growth comes amid rising operational costs, with the bank's total income also seeing a significant increase of 19.35 per cent, from GHS12.82 million in 2024 to GHS15.29 million in 2025.

According to Ghana News Agency, the bank's Board Chairman, Mr Thomas Clarkson Adade, shared these financial achievements during the bank's 43rd Annual General Meeting held in Akatsi. He highlighted the bank's robust performance, noting a 31.08 per cent increase in total assets, growing from GHS45.83 million to GHS60.08 million.

Customer deposits experienced a notable rise of 38.37 per cent, increasing from GHS32.38 million in 2024 to GHS44.80 million in 2025. Mr Adade attributed this to successful deposit mobilisation efforts. Furthermore, total investments rose by 37.91 per cent, from GHS20.61 million to GHS28.42 million, and loans and advances increased by 17.93 per cent, from GHS16.10 million to GHS18.99 million.

Mr Adade stated that the bank's performance underscored its resilience and ability to adapt to the evolving economic and regulatory landscape, all while continuing to deliver value to shareholders. He noted that the bank's financial performance improved significantly as the economy began to recover from previous challenges.

The bank's capital adequacy ratio stood at 23.48 per cent, surpassing the regulatory minimum, reflecting its commitment to maintaining prudent financial management. Despite the growth, the bank's operating expenses rose by 21.92 per cent to GHS12.31 million, due largely to increased staff costs and strategic hiring to support business expansion.

Mr Daniel Dagba, Municipal Chief Executive for Akatsi South, praised the Board, Management, and staff for their performance and encouraged the bank to enhance its contributions to the local economy.
