Accra: Leader of Heaven's Gate Ministries, Prophet Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Kumchacha, has advised young men against marrying women who already have children. Speaking on Asempa FM on August 11, 2026, the prophet questioned why a young man who is just starting out in life would consider marrying a woman who already has a child. He compared the situation to a football match, questioning whether anyone had ever seen a game in which one team had a lead even before the match had started.
According to Ghana Web, Kumchacha expressed his belief that any man who chooses to marry a woman with a child has, in his view, a low intelligence quotient (IQ). "If a woman already has children, and you are a young man just starting out in life, why would you consider marrying her? Have you ever seen a football match where one team is already leading before the game even begins? In my view, any man who chooses to marry a woman with children has a low IQ," he stated.
Kumchacha further elaborated that if both the man and the woman already have children, then it is understandable because they are both coming into the marriage with children. However, he emphasized that for a young man who is just starting life to marry a woman who already has children is, in his words, "simply nonsense."
He also mentioned that, personally, he would not allow his child to marry a woman who already has children. Kumchacha explained that everyone has their own preference in life, adding that a woman with multiple children would eventually find a man who also has children and would be willing to marry her.
When asked whether, as a preacher, he would bless a marriage involving a young man and a woman who already has children, Kumchacha responded that even in his church, he does not advise his congregants to have weddings.
