Accra: A man has reportedly been arrested after allegedly impersonating a military officer, according to a viral video circulating on social media. The suspect, who identified himself as a security officer working with a task force security service, was found dressed in a lieutenant colonel's uniform. In the video, he is seen being questioned by individuals believed to be officers of the Ghana Armed Forces.
According to Ghana Web, when asked how he obtained the military uniform and why he was wearing it, the man claimed that he had previously worked with a military major and acquired the uniform through that association. During the interrogation, the suspect appeared remorseful and apologized for his actions.
'Why are you wearing a lieutenant colonel's uniform when you are a civilian?' one of the officers asked. 'I am a security officer,' the suspect responded.
Reports indicate that the young man was arrested by personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces after he was allegedly found wearing a full military camouflage uniform while posing as a military officer. During preliminary questioning, he reportedly struggled to properly identify himself and maintained that he worked as a security officer with a task force.
