Ghana Gas Achieves 97% Profit Growth in 2025

Accra: The Ghana National Gas Company (Ghana Gas) has reported a substantial financial performance for the 2025 fiscal year, achieving a 97 percent increase in net profit, marking a significant milestone for the company and highlighting its vital role in the nation's economy and energy sector.

According to Ghana Web, the achievement was highlighted during the company's 8th Annual General Meeting (AGM), which took place on Friday, July 31, 2026. During this meeting, shareholders approved the 2025 Annual Report and Audited Financial Statements. At the event, Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor, Minister for Energy and Green Transition, commended Ghana Gas for posting strong operational and financial results despite prevailing challenges in the energy sector.

The Minister noted that the company had increased its gas processing capacity from 100 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) to 130 MMscfd, alongside a rise in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) production. However, the significant near-doubling of net profit emerged as the standout achievement of the year. He attributed these financial gains to Ghana Gas' commitment to operational efficiency, prudent financial management, and its expanding role in supporting Ghana's energy requirements.

'The 97 percent growth in net profit demonstrates that Ghana Gas is not only expanding its operations but is also creating greater value for the state and its stakeholders,' the Minister remarked. He further stated that the company's improved financial position enables it to invest in critical infrastructure, support the government's Gas-to-Power programme, and foster industrial growth across the country.

The Minister urged the Board and Management to maintain the momentum by expanding gas infrastructure, enhancing operational reliability, and pursuing strategic investments that sustain profitability while addressing Ghana's growing energy demand. Additionally, the company's financial stability received confirmation from its external auditors, KPMG, whose audit underscored Ghana Gas' accomplishments in reducing operational costs, improving efficiency, and maintaining robust financial management practices.

These advancements, as highlighted by the auditors, have fortified the company's financial outlook and reinforced its ability to deliver long-term value. The Minister also reiterated the Ministry's commitment to supporting Ghana Gas in its expansion initiatives and lauded the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) for its ongoing oversight, which has aided in enhancing corporate governance and accountability among state-owned enterprises.

With stronger profits, increased production, and improved operational efficiency, Ghana Gas continues to solidify its position as one of Ghana's most valuable state-owned enterprises, contributing significantly to energy security, industrialisation, and national economic growth.
