Lagos: Popular TikTok creator, Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has reported that suspected hoodlums stole mobile phones from several guests at his traditional wedding in Lagos. Peller shared during a TikTok livestream on Monday that he has been compensating victims for their losses, expressing frustration over the theft incidents which occurred outside the wedding venue while the ceremony was ongoing.
According to Ghana Web, Peller explained that multiple guests informed him about their phones being snatched by suspected 'agberos' gathered around the venue. He stated that he has spent a considerable amount replacing some of the stolen devices and is exhausted by the situation.
The content creator attributed the thefts to hoodlums who allegedly crowded the venue. Peller described the scene, noting that 'agberos' were more numerous than the wedding guests, leading to several reports of phone snatching.
Peller shared a specific incident where a female guest had her phone stolen immediately upon arriving at the venue. He also recounted another disturbing occurrence involving a road accident outside the venue, which allegedly involved a confrontation with 'agberos' leading to a car accident.
Reflecting on the eventful day, Peller vowed not to allow similar incidents during his upcoming white wedding scheduled for August 8. He announced that the white wedding would be a private ceremony with only 100 invited guests and that security personnel would be deployed to prevent unauthorized gatherings.
The wedding gained widespread attention due to the lavish gifts presented to the couple. Notable among them were N10m from socialite Pascal Okechukwu, known as Cubana Chief Priest, and $20,000 from American TikTok personality Gregory Pizarro Jr. The couple also received a plot of land in Abuja valued at N150m and a fully furnished mansion in Abuja's Life Camp area worth N400m.
The event was graced by celebrities and content creators, including actress Iyabo Ojo, singer Zinoleesky, Priscilla Ojo and her husband Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, Daddy Freeze, Papaya Ex, Tee Dollar, Aunty Ramota, and others. Entertainment at the wedding was provided by Fuji musician Sule Alao Malaika.
