Jehovah’s Witnesses Announce 2026 ‘Eternal Happiness’ Convention in Ghana

Accra: Jehovah's Witnesses are preparing to host a three-day program themed 'Eternal Happiness' that promises to explore how to attain genuine happiness, amidst a world where many find happiness elusive. The event is scheduled to take place in several locations across Ghana in 2026, offering a variety of sessions to accommodate different linguistic and community needs.

According to Ghana News Agency, the convention will feature a special session dedicated to the hearing impaired and tactile communities from the Southern and Eastern regions of Ghana. This session is set to occur at the Bukom Boxing Arena, Ga Mashie Hall, from July 31 to August 2, 2026, with an anticipated attendance of approximately 1,200 individuals. Mr. Nathaniel Ofei, the Regional Spokesman for Jehovah's Witnesses, emphasized the universal desire for happiness in an interview, questioning, "Who doesn't want to be happy?" He elaborated on the convention's theme by stating, "This year's convention theme discusses how to be happy and how to remain happy. All in attendance will discover the real joy that comes from a solid hope for the future."

The convention's schedule includes a Twi-language session at the Accra Sports Stadium from August 7 to 9, 2026, expected to draw around 20,000 attendees. Additionally, an English-language session will be held from August 21 to 23, 2026, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, with an audience of 10,000 expected. The program aims to delve into how everlasting happiness can be achieved through spirituality rooted in practical Bible principles.

The event will also feature a baptism ceremony on Saturday, alongside Bible-based videos, interviews, and engaging discourses on topics such as "Abundant Happiness Forever - Is It Realistic?", "Why Are You Anxious?", and "Have You Discovered the Treasure?". A highlight of the convention will be the much-anticipated debut of Episodes 4, 5, and 6 of 'The Good News According to Jesus', a video series that dramatizes the life and ministry of Jesus Christ based on Gospel accounts. This series began with Episode 1 in 2024 and continued with Episodes 2 and 3 in 2025.

In 2025, Jehovah's Witnesses hosted over 6,000 conventions worldwide, spanning more than 500 languages under the theme 'Pure Worship', including 19 international conventions in 13 countries, collectively drawing over 12 million attendees.
