Accra: Afro-dancehall musician Stonebwoy has addressed whether he feels pressured to bring numerous guest artistes on stage when hosting concerts at international arenas. Speaking on the Sent Back Podcast, the award-winning musician dismissed suggestions that inviting guest performers is driven by competition. Instead, he said the only pressure he feels is the desire to give fans the best possible experience.
According to Ghana Web, Stonebwoy emphasized that the pressure he experiences is not about competition but about satisfying the audience. 'As for the pressure, if there's any at all, it's the pressure to satisfy the masses. We want to give them more and more. That's where the pressure comes from. But regardless, if an artist is doing any event, they mean to come give the best of the best. You also have to grow into that level because people build gradually,' he explained.
Stonebwoy, who is set to host BHIM Festival in London in August 2026, further elaborated on his decision not to stage the event in March. This is a time when many Ghanaian artistes hold concerts around Ghana's Independence celebrations. He believes that spreading major events across different months provides fans with more opportunities to attend shows without conflicting schedules. 'It's also intentional not to wait until March because there will be a lot happening then. Imagine if all of us decided to host our events in March. It would be difficult because we can't all fit into one period. So let's spread things out and keep the fans excited throughout the year. That's what we're about,' he stated.
The dancehall artiste also clarified that bringing guest performers on stage is about enhancing the show's excitement and creating a memorable experience for fans, rather than a necessity for his performances. 'Believe me, we have plans to bring excitement and surprises, but to me, there's no pressure. If there's any pressure at all, it's simply the pressure to satisfy the masses. As for performing alone, my catalogue alone can keep me on stage for five or even six hours for my core people, so to bring another people it just means we want the excitement to go up,' he added.
