Accra: Ghanaian entertainment pundit Nana Frimpong Zeiga has made allegations against President John Dramani Mahama following the recent arrest of NPP communications team member Miracles Aboagye. In a video shared on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on July 13, 2026, Zeiga alleged that Miracles Aboagye's arrest by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) was an attempt by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to divert growing public attention from President Mahama's alleged third-term agenda.
According to Ghana Web, Zeiga claimed that President Mahama's third-term bid is likely to proceed unless advised against it by the party's executives. He described the arrest as a diversionary tactic, suggesting that the third-term agenda has already been set in motion. Zeiga argued that the focus on Aboagye's arrest is intended to distract the public from Mahama's political ambitions.
Zeiga further highlighted that while Miracles Aboagye should be treated like any other citizen before the law, the EOCO could have managed the situation differently. He emphasized that Aboagye is not above the laws of Ghana, and if he has committed any wrongdoing, the law should prevail. However, Zeiga criticized the manner of the arrest, suggesting that Aboagye could have been invited for questioning along with his lawyers, rather than subjecting him to a forceful arrest. He expressed concern over such Rambo-style arrests, calling for public attention to these alarming tactics.
