Accra: One person has reportedly been shot in the leg following a confrontation between some residents and a joint team of military and police officers believed to be attached to the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) at Kyebi in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear but information gathered indicates that the confrontation occurred during an operation by the security team at a mining site in the area.
