Barekse: All candidates who stood unopposed in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency executives' elections in the Atwima Nwabiagya North constituency of the Ashanti region have been confirmed by the party delegates. They include Abdul Salam Issah as Chairman, Dorah Peprah as First Vice Chairperson, Pius Boateng as Treasurer, Doris Appiah as Women Organizer, and Ali Ibrahim as Nasara Organizer.
According to Ghana News Agency, the elections saw Eric Essumang Apraku winning the first vice chairman position with 732 votes, defeating Kwaku Danso, who garnered 505 votes. Collins Acheampong secured the Secretary position with 961 votes against Raphael Osei Owusu's 278 votes. Appiagyei emerged as the Organizer with 722 votes, surpassing Kofi Arhin, who received 514 votes.
Isaac Owusu received the support of 764 delegates to become the Communications Officer, defeating Gabriel Twumasi, who had 468 votes. Regina Adu was elected as Women Secretary with 693 votes, beating Bernice Wiredu, who obtained 551 votes.
The elections involved a total of 1,169 polling station executives, 85 electoral area coordinators, 19 constituency executives, five Patrons, and five council of elders, who constituted the delegates. Mr. Frank Yeboah, the Member of Parliament for the area, also participated by casting his vote.
Mr. Bright Kofi Adusei, the Constituency Research and Elections Director, confirmed the figures and commended the aspirants and their supporters for ensuring peaceful elections. He also praised the Electoral Commission, the security personnel, and the media for their cooperation and professionalism throughout the exercise.
