Adaklu: Mr. Governs Kwame Agbodza, Minister for Roads and Highways and Member of Parliament for Adaklu, on Thursday donated assorted food items to the two senior high schools (SHSs) in the Adaklu District. The donation, valued at approximately GHS40,000, included 50 bags of sugar, 50 cartons of tea bags, and 126 cartons of milk, intended for distribution between Adaklu SHS at Adaklu Waya and Gbekor SHS at Adaklu Abuadi/Trisiefe.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Jerry Yao Ameko, the Adaklu District Chief Executive (DCE), presented the items on behalf of Mr. Agbodza. In his address to the students, Mr. Ameko emphasized the importance of education, urging them to remain dedicated to their studies as they are the future leaders of the country. He highlighted the government's significant investment in the education sector, stating that such investments are investments in the nation's future.
Mr. Ameko, also the Dean of the Volta Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), advised the students to maintain discipline and avoid actions that might hinder their future ambitions. He stressed the importance of both academic credentials and personal conduct in achieving their goals.
Furthermore, Mr. Ameko underscored the importance of education for the development of Adaklu, noting the district's lack of mineral resources and reliance on human capital. He encouraged parents and guardians to continue supporting their children's education to the highest possible level.
The headmasters of the beneficiary schools, Mr. Bright Agbesi Akatsi of Adaklu SHS and Mr. Louis Antonio of Gbekor SHS, expressed their gratitude for Mr. Agbodza's ongoing support. They pledged to ensure the donated items are used appropriately to benefit the students. Mr. Ameko was joined by some executives of the Adaklu Constituency of the National Democratic Congress during the presentation.
