Bechem: Mr Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, the Tano South Municipal Chief Executive in the Ahafo Region, has announced that the Assembly has received 15,000 bags of fertilizers to be distributed to farmers throughout the Municipality.
According to Ghana News Agency, the government provided the fertilizers as part of its efforts to enhance agricultural production and support food security. In a discussion with the media at Bechem, the Municipal capital, Mr Frimpong emphasized the government's commitment to supporting farmers, highlighting that the fertilizers are a testament to President John Dramani Mahama's determination to fulfill his Election 2024 campaign promises.
Mr Frimpong stated that the Municipal Directorate of Agriculture would soon begin distributing the agro-chemicals. He urged distributors to ensure the fertilizers reach deserving farmers without partisan bias. He expressed optimism that the fertilizers would significantly improve crop yields and strengthen the agricultural sector in the area.
He also conveyed gratitude to the government for the provision and encouraged beneficiaries to use the fertilizers for their intended purposes. Mr Paul Addei, the Tano South Municipal Director of Agriculture, assured that the distribution would be conducted fairly across the municipality.
