Accra: The Africa Drone Soccer Federation (ADSF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with A-Tech Group Korea (ATGK) in Accra. This agreement is centered around accelerating the development of Drone Soccer, STEM education, youth innovation, and drone technology capacity building across Ghana and the African continent.
According to Ghana News Agency, the MoU signing ceremony was jointly executed by Mr. Cheol Soo Lee, Chief Executive Officer of A-Tech Group Korea, and Dr. Alfred Kwanchie Dodoo, President of the Africa Drone Soccer Federation. The partnership aims to establish a strategic framework for collaboration in Drone Soccer infrastructure development, supply of certified Drone Soccer equipment, technology transfer, training and certification programs, competition management, STEM education integration, youth empowerment, and institutional development across Africa.
The agreement further seeks to promote innovation ecosystems and enhance technological cooperation between Ghana and the Republic of Korea. Speaking during the ceremony, Mr. Cheol Soo Lee emphasized A-Tech Group Korea's commitment to supporting the growth of Drone Soccer in Ghana and Africa through the provision of equipment, technical expertise, training, certification programs, and knowledge exchange.
He expressed that through this partnership, A-Tech Group Korea is pleased to support the Africa Drone Soccer Federation in establishing a sustainable Drone Soccer ecosystem that will create opportunities for young people and educational institutions across Ghana and Africa. In his remarks, Dr. Alfred Kwanchie Dodoo expressed profound appreciation to Mr. Lee and A-Tech Group Korea for their confidence in the Federation and their willingness to support the development of Drone Soccer on the continent.
Dr. Dodoo indicated that the Federation would work closely with educational institutions, government agencies, development partners, and private sector stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the partnership. Also addressing the gathering, Mr. Michael Nii Armah Tagoe, representing the Ghana Chapter of the Federation, announced plans to establish Drone Soccer Clubs in first- and second-cycle educational institutions throughout Ghana.
According to Mr. Tagoe, Drone Soccer offers a unique opportunity to combine sports with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education while nurturing the next generation of innovators and technology leaders. The partnership between ADSF and ATGK is expected to facilitate the establishment of Drone Soccer arenas and training centers, certification programs for coaches and referees, national and continental competitions, youth entrepreneurship initiatives, and regional Drone Soccer hubs across Africa.
The signing of the MoU marks a significant milestone in the advancement of Drone Soccer and the broader promotion of innovation, STEM education, sports technology, and international cooperation between Ghana, Africa, and the Republic of Korea. Present at the signing ceremony were Mr. Michael Nii Armah Tagoe - Representative, Ghana Chapter of the Africa Drone Soccer Federation, Mr. Samuel Nii Dodoo - Executive Secretary, Africa Drone Soccer Federation, and Nii Harry Dodoo - Steering Committee Member, Ga Mashie Development Agency (GAMADA).
