2026 Meko Bono Festival Committee Meets Bono East Minister

Atebubu: The 2026 Central Organising Committee of the Meko Bono festival has made a courtesy visit to Mr. Francis Owusu Antwi, the Bono East Regional Minister, in anticipation of the upcoming festival scheduled to take place from August 17 to August 22, 2026, in Atebubu.

According to Ghana News Agency, the committee was led by Nana Atta Gyan Katakyie, the Sompahene of the Atebubu Traditional Council, and Nana Kofi Yeboah, the Vice President of Meko Bonofie, the festival's organising body. The discussions primarily focused on strategies to highlight the region's culture, tradition, and tourism potential to attract investment.

Mr. Antwi praised the committee and organisers for their efforts and assured them of his support to ensure the festival's success. He stressed the importance of peace and unity and urged a collective effort to maintain the existing peace in the region, particularly in the Atebubu/Amantin Municipality.

He also expressed confidence that the road project in Atebubu/Amantin would be completed by the festival's commencement. Nana Katakyie thanked the Regional Minister for his warm reception and invited him to attend the event.
