Ghanaians Embrace ‘Complete Farmer App’ to Enhance Agricultural Productivity

Accra: The Presidential Initiatives in Agriculture and Agribusiness (PIAA) has announced that Ghanaians have warmly received Complete Farmer's newly launched digital platforms. These platforms are anticipated to enhance agricultural productivity, improve market access, and strengthen the agricultural value chain in the country.

According to Ghana Web, Programme Coordinator Emmanuel Owusu, speaking on behalf of the Director of PIAA, Peter Boamah Otokunor, highlighted the positive reception of the technology. Owusu emphasized the potential of these digital solutions to transform agriculture in Ghana, suggesting that governmental support could further enhance their effectiveness. He made these comments during the launch of Complete Farmer's CF Grower and CF Buyer platforms in Accra.

The platforms aim to facilitate reliable supply chains for buyers and enable direct sourcing of agricultural commodities from farmers in Ghana and across Africa. The digital solutions are crafted to connect farmers and buyers while equipping farmers with technological tools to improve productivity and decision-making throughout the farming cycle.

Complete Farmer's Chief Executive Officer, Desmond Koney, shared that the platform was inspired by his background in a farming family and his desire to improve farmers' fortunes. Koney stated that the platform seeks to bridge the gap between farmers and buyers by creating a seamless marketplace for efficient transactions.

The CF Grower platform offers farmers an end-to-end operating system that supports every stage of production, from land mapping to crop and soil recommendations, and provides crop-specific agronomic guidance. Koney emphasized that this system guides farmers throughout their farming journey.

The platform also aims to connect key stakeholders within the agricultural ecosystem to boost efficiency and productivity. Benjamin Gyan-Kesse, Executive Director of the Kosmos Innovation Center, praised Complete Farmer's growth, noting it as a testament to how innovative ideas can evolve into successful businesses with the right support.

Weetsa Adinku, Marketing Manager of Complete Farmer, stated that the launch was about more than just introducing new technology; it was about strengthening the journey from farm to table. Adinku reiterated the company's commitment to empowering farmers, expanding market access, improving transparency, and creating opportunities across the agricultural ecosystem.

Kola Olajide, Chief Technology Officer of Complete Farmer, emphasized the role of innovation and artificial intelligence in advancing food sustainability across Africa. He highlighted that the platform's artificial intelligence tools enable farmers to use mobile phones to assess crop health and identify nutrient deficiencies. The platform is designed to support smallholder farmers, functioning even in areas with limited internet connectivity through an offline mode operated by the company's field agents. Once internet access is available, all data collected offline is synchronized automatically, ensuring farmers benefit from digital agriculture.
