President Mahama Pushes for Private Sector-Led Growth at CEO Summit 2026

Accra: President John Dramani Mahama has called for deeper collaboration between government and the private sector to drive Ghana's economic transformation, stressing that economic stability alone is not enough without jobs, investments, and improved living conditions for citizens. Addressing business leaders at the 2026 Ghana CEO Summit in Accra on May 28, 2026, President Mahama said Ghana must move beyond discussions about economic recovery and focus on production and sustainable growth.

According to Ghana Web, economic transformation must be measured by its impact on the lives of ordinary Ghanaians. President Mahama emphasized that stability should underpin production, which in turn should create jobs that raise incomes and restore confidence and dignity among the people. He assured investors and industry leaders that his government remains committed to fiscal discipline and policy consistency following Ghana's IMF-supported programme, emphasizing that the stability currently enjoyed is sustainable.

The President also addressed concerns about bureaucratic bottlenecks within the public sector, noting that unclear procedures and delays continue to frustrate businesses and investors. He stressed the importance of regulatory reforms in boosting productivity and attracting long-term investments. President Mahama argued that clear procedures, reduced duplication, and faster service delivery are crucial for businesses to expand operations, hire more staff, and compete effectively in the export market.

The summit gathered business leaders, policymakers, and industry players under the theme, 'Managing Financial Sector Reforms and Industrial Growth: Driving Ghana's Economic Transformation from Vision to Action.'
