Accra: The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts has conducted a comprehensive meeting involving heads of Human Resource (HR) units from its agencies to address key operational issues and enhance coordination efforts.
According to Ghana News Agency, this meeting is part of the Ministry's initiative to bolster administrative efficiency, promote exemplary practices in human resource management, and enhance the understanding of HR management frameworks within its public domain. The session provided HR practitioners with an opportunity to discuss operational challenges and align their operations with the broader public service standards.
Mr. Vitus Otto Langmagne, Director of Human Resource Management at the Ministry, emphasized during his presentation the significance of maintaining precise and updated staff databases to bolster data integrity, accountability, and efficiency in payroll management across the public sector. He highlighted that inconsistencies in organizational databases could undermine effective human resource planning and called for enhanced collaboration among HR units to regularly validate staff data and ensure adherence to established administrative protocols.
Mr. Langmagne also advocated for increased investment in training and capacity building within public sector institutions, noting that staff development often does not receive the necessary attention despite its vital role in improving performance and service delivery. He recommended that structured and continuous training programs should be prioritized as part of human resource planning to equip staff with the necessary skills to meet evolving administrative and operational demands within the sector.
The Director provided a comprehensive presentation on various aspects of human resource management within the Public Service, offering updated guidance on policies, procedures, and compliance requirements to support standardized HR practices across agencies. The engagement gathered HR heads from agencies under the Ministry as part of broader efforts to reinforce the human resource systems that facilitate effective service delivery within the Public Service.
