According to Ghana Web, Bright emphasized that this trend is not merely driven by panic or emotion but should be understood as part of a larger struggle with opportunities across the continent. She pointed out a "deep and uncomfortable reality" where many young Africans no longer see sufficient opportunities in their home countries, prompting them to seek better prospects abroad.
Bright noted that the eagerness of citizens to return home under duress reflects the fragile nature of migration hopes when faced with harsh realities. She explained that many Africans who travel abroad with high expectations find themselves in survival mode, ultimately forcing them to reconsider their decisions as these expectations collapse under pressure.
She further argued that the situation in South Africa is not an isolated incident but rather indicative of a broader structural economic failure affecting the entire continent.
