Abesewa: The Church of Pentecost has launched its 2026 Medical Outreach to provide free medical screenings, care consultations, surgeries, and health education for community members at Abesewa and surrounding communities in the Ahafo Ano South East Municipality of the Ashanti Region. Speaking at the launch of the outreach at Abesewa, Apostle Dr. Ebenezer Hagan, the National Youth Director of the Church, said the outreach 'is a blend of physical restoral and spiritual renewal.'
According to Ghana News Agency, the outreach was themed 'Healing Bodies, Saving Souls,' reflecting Christ's holistic ministry of caring for both the body and the heart. Apostle Dr. Hagan emphasized that health is the foundation upon which the prosperity of any community is built. The outreach aims to alleviate the burden of disease, provide essential screenings, and offer medical interventions that many may otherwise struggle to access.
Apostle Dr. Hagan described the outreach as a covenant of care, not just a service, for all who felt forgotten. The initiative is supported by partners such as Main Line Health, IMAGHE World Foundation, PENSA International, PENTSOS, and the Abesewa Pentecost Hospital. By combining the technical expertise of partners and the passion of Youth Ministry and PENSA International volunteers, they create a powerful vehicle for community development.
He urged community members to take advantage of the services, emphasizing that the success of the mission depended largely on community participation. Apostle Dr. Hagan called for sustained collaboration between local leaders, health professionals, and the church to achieve the outreach's intended purpose.
Prophet Fred Antwi, Duayaw-Nkwanta Area Head of the Church in the Ahafo Region, explained that the outreach reflected the church's commitment to its vision 2028 of 'transforming the world with the values and principles of the Kingdom of God.' IMAGHE World Foundation is expected to deploy about 40 health officials from the United States to Ghana for the outreach, coordinating clinical, surgical, and pharmaceutical operations.
Other partners include Main Line Health System/Lankenau Medical Center in Pennsylvania, IMAGHE World Foundation in Virginia, a medical non-profit led by CoP member Dcn. Dr. Derrick Aboagye, as well as the Bechem Government Hospital and PENSA Ghana providing counseling and evangelism. The outreach offers opportunities for community members to access free surgeries for eye, goiter, and hernia problems.
