Accra: Mildred Donkor, the third prosecution witness in the ongoing Adu-Boahene trial, has testified before the Accra High Court regarding a GHS7.2 million transaction linked to BNC Communications Bureau Limited. The amount was found in a bank account identified as the National Security 'Coordinator's Account'. Donkor, who was initially an accused but later became a state witness, disclosed these details during her cross-examination by defence counsel Samuel Atta Akyea at Criminal Court 3, Special Court 1.
According to Ghana Web, Donkor, a former Director of Advantage Solutions Limited (ASL), provided evidence connecting email instructions, bank transfers, and SWIFT messages to payments made to ISC Holdings International Security Consultants Ltd. These transactions were for the procurement of a cyber defence system for National Security. During her testimony, she confirmed sending multiple email instructions to UMB Bank for transfers from BNC accounts. Exhibits K, L, M, N, and P, which were presented in court, were part of the communications with the bank.
Donkor also acknowledged that additional emails existed beyond those already submitted as evidence. A contested email dated February 5, 2020, was admitted into evidence as the judge deemed it relevant to the ongoing payment investigation. She verified that ISC Holdings received a $150,000 transfer, as documented in Exhibit 19, and that SWIFT records in Exhibit 20 detailed payments for the 'Procurement of Cyber-defence system' under Invoice NSC006.
Although Donkor could not independently verify the exchange rate for a larger $1,000,750 transaction, she noted that the bank handled the conversion. Furthermore, she confirmed that bank records reflected a GHS7.25 million transfer from BNC accounts to the first accused person, with subsequent entries showing GHS7.2 million movements in a Fidelity Bank account labeled as the National Security 'Coordinator's Account'.
The presiding judge emphasized that conclusions would be drawn at the prosecution's case's conclusion, with a full evidential assessment to follow. The trial has been adjourned to Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 10:30 am, with additional hearings planned between May 25 and May 28, 2026, at the Accra High Court.
