Accra: The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mahamudu Bawumia, has declared that the party will not be intimidated by the recent arrests of some of its members. The former Vice President emphasized that the party remains resolute and unshaken despite the developments.
According to Ghana Web, Dr. Bawumia addressed students at the University of Ghana, stating that the NPP would continue to stand firm regardless of the arrests. "We will not be intimidated. You can arrest all of us. We will come back and make it our case to the people of Ghana," he told the gathering.
His remarks come amid growing concerns within the NPP over the arrest of some party activists by security agencies, a situation that has sparked internal debate and political discussions. Among those arrested are the Bono Regional Chairman of the NPP, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, and the Agona West NPP Organiser, David Essandoh.
The engagement with tertiary students forms part of the party's broader efforts to strengthen youth participation and groom future leaders within the NPP.
