Accra: The African Women Leaders Network (AWLN) Ghana Chapter has extended its congratulations to Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, member of Parliament for Klottey-Korle, on her election as Second Vice President of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP).
According to Ghana News Agency, the PAP, established in 2004 as a legislative organ of the African Union, aims to promote democratic governance and continental integration. The Parliament, headquartered in South Africa, comprises 229 members from 52 African Union member states. Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings' election to this prestigious position marks the second instance of Ghana occupying a top leadership role within the Parliament and the first time a woman has served in this capacity since its inception.
