Accra: The Anloga District Assembly, situated in the Volta Region, has issued a directive mandating owners of signages, signposts, and billboards erected without proper permits to regularise them by June 6, 2026. This initiative is part of the Assembly's efforts to ensure compliance with spatial planning regulations within the district.
According to Ghana News Agency, Madam Sandra Seyram Kpedor, the Anloga District Chief Executive, urged all affected individuals and companies to utilize this grace period to regularise their advertising structures to avoid penalties. She emphasized that the notice is given well in advance to allow sufficient time for compliance. Those who fail to obtain the necessary permits by the stipulated deadline will face the removal of their unauthorised signages.
Madam Kpedor further explained that defaulters would be required to pay penalties in addition to the permit fees before they could reinstall their advertising structures. The assembly plans to conduct a special operation to remove all unauthorised signages, signposts, and billboards following the June 6 deadline. This operation will proceed without additional notice once the grace period expires.
The public is encouraged to visit the District Assembly for the necessary permits or corrections to avoid the removal of their advertising structures and the subsequent consequences. The initiative aims to sanitise the district and ensure that all outdoor advertisements adhere to the required standards.
