Accra: Ghanaian chef and content creator Chef Abbys has emphasized the importance of prioritizing education over business pursuits, sharing her personal experiences as a cautionary tale. In a recent interview on 3Music TV, Chef Abbys revealed that while she was in school, her focus was more on her burgeoning cooking business than her academic studies.
According to Ghana Web, Chef Abbys often found herself cooking for customers during school hours due to high demand. She recounted instances where classmates and customers would ask her to prepare fries, even when she had classes to attend. This frequent diversion from her studies led her to spend more time on her business than on her education-a decision she now regrets.
Chef Abbys acknowledged that she should have concentrated more on her studies and advised students to do the same. She stressed the vast opportunities available to educated individuals, stating, “I was focusing more on the business than my studies, which is something I shouldn’t have done.” She further underscored the significance of obtaining a university degree, reflecting on how she could have performed better academically if she had prioritized her education.
The chef also addressed the challenge of balancing social media commitments with educational responsibilities. She mentioned the difficulty of managing her studies while creating content for her online platforms and encouraged students to prioritize their education, assuring them that business opportunities will still be available upon graduation.
