Accra: Ghanaian music star Black Sherif has stated that two of his songs deserve recognition in the Gospel Song of the Year category at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
According to Ghana Web, the musician made the assertion during an appearance on Onua Showtime with Nana Ama McBrown, where they discussed the spirituality behind his songs. McBrown noted that "Sacrifice" feels like a gospel song, to which Black Sherif agreed. Industry figure and blogger Kobby Kyei, who was a panellist, initiated the conversation by suggesting that "Sacrifice" should have been nominated, prompting Black Sherif to add "Lord I'm Amazed" to the list of deserving songs.
Black Sherif emphasized the significance of both tracks, drawn from his sophomore album 'Iron Boy,' released on April 3, 2025. He described "Lord I'm Amazed" as his "prayer and testimony," blending gospel-inspired melodies with heartfelt lyrics. The cultural impact of these songs is evident in their impressive numbers, with "Lord I'm Amazed" amassing over 5.1 million views on YouTube and "Sacrifice" surpassing 13 million views on the platform.
