Nhyiaeso: The Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, Dr. Stephen Amoah, also known as 'Sticka', has revealed that Kennedy Agyapong, a prominent figure and former MP for Assin Central, is not considering leading 'The Base Movement,' a new political entity, in the upcoming 2028 elections.
According to Ghana Web, during an interview on Angel FM, which has since been circulated on social media, Sticka discussed his direct conversation with Kennedy Agyapong regarding his involvement with the movement. Agyapong, who is also a presidential aspirant, expressed his lack of interest in leading the Base Movement.
Sticka emphasized the importance of unity within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and warned against any potential splintering. He advised party members to focus on collaboration and dedication to the NPP, stating, "I will advise everyone that we are done with the elections, so we should come together and sacrifice for the NPP. So, the Base and all those things, we should stop and work together as NPP people, because for me, there is nothing that I would not sacrifice for the NPP."
Sticka reiterated his conversation with Agyapong, confirming, "I have personally asked Kennedy Agyapong about 'The Base' and he has said he is not interested." He further urged NPP members to remain cautious, united, and steadfast within the party, rather than considering departure.
