Accra: The Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG) Men's Fellowship has extended congratulations to its members, fellow Ghanaians, and men's fellowships across various Christian denominations as it commemorates this year's Men's Day. The annual celebration, instituted more than two decades ago in collaboration with partner Protestant churches under the Christian Council of Ghana, continues to highlight the role of men in evangelism, moral leadership, and socio-economic development.
According to Ghana Web, this year's Men's Day was observed under the theme 'Cleanliness is Next to Godliness, Keep Clean, Men as Educators.' The week-long activities included symposia, prayer sessions, Bible studies, clean-up exercises, and a practical demonstration of innovative techniques to prevent pollution of water bodies. The commemoration climaxed on Sunday, April 26, 2026, with a thanksgiving service and the official launch of the EPCG Men's Fellowship's 30th anniversary celebrations.
In a statement, the EPCG Men's Fellowship National Secretariat urged men in leadership positions to champion advocacy campaigns that promote positive behavioral change, environmental sanitation, and discipline within Ghanaian society. The Men's Desk at the EPCG Head Office further called on faith-based organizations, particularly churches affiliated with the Christian Council of Ghana, to establish Men's Fellowships in all congregations as a means of curbing moral degradation, lawlessness, and indiscipline among the youth.
The two establishments called on the government, relevant state regulatory bodies, and security institutions to intensify the fight against illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, that is polluting water bodies and negatively impacting the health of citizens. They called on all men's fellowships in the country to rise to their stewardship responsibilities of dedication, intensifying evangelism, promoting health education, and moral virtues.
