Hohoe: The Hohoe Tsevi Sub-Division of the Gbi Traditional Area in the Volta Region has outdoored its Queenmother. Known in private life as Emelia Edem Kugbeadzor, she is enstooled as Mama Akrengbe III. Mama Akrengbe, in a speech, expressed that it was a great honour and pride, adding that she would henceforth also be known as 'Mama Is Dope.'
According to Ghana News Agency, Mama Akrengbe stated that the name represented a new chapter that embraced strength, cultural pride, influence, and a deeper connection with the people, especially the youth and the creative community. While her traditional role and responsibilities remained rooted in rich customs and heritage, the identity reflected a modern voice committed to unity, empowerment, and progress.
Mama Akrengbe affirmed her dedication to serving the people with wisdom, dignity, and purpose. Mr. Prosper Kumi, Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), commended the newly enstooled Queen and the entire Sub-Division. He emphasized that the development of every town is reliant on collaboration between stakeholders, particularly traditional authorities.
Mr. Kumi pledged the Assembly's support to ensure that development was evenly distributed, adding that some roads within the Sub-Division would be enhanced.
