Sunyani: Mr. Seid Mubarak, the Member of Parliament for Sunyani East, has made a contribution to the construction of a Basic School at Kuffuor Camp. The MP donated 50 bags of cement and a trip of sand to aid the building efforts in the constituency.
According to Ghana News Agency, the project was initiated by Nana Owusu Afriyie, the Chief of Kuffuor Camp, a farming community. The school will include a creche, kindergarten, Lower Primary, offices, and a library. During a ceremony held at Kuffuor Camp, Mr. Mubarak expressed his commitment to enhancing educational facilities and creating an environment conducive to effective teaching and learning.
Mr. Mubarak urged community members to support the project and praised the chief for his initiative. Nana Afriyie highlighted the need for a Basic School, as children currently walk long distances to attend school in Atronie, the nearest town. He pointed out the dangers faced by the children walking along the Sunyani-Atronie Road, citing incidents of pedestrian knockdowns.
Nana Afriyie recalled a tragic incident involving a school child who was knocked down by a vehicle while returning from Atronie. He appealed for further support for the school project, which has reached the window level of construction. The chief called on the government, non-government organizations, corporate bodies, and philanthropists to assist in completing the school. He expressed gratitude to the MP for his support.
