Paris: President John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday commenced his one-day official visit to Paris, marked by a meeting with Gerard Larcher, President of the French Senate. The visit began with a military ceremony before discussions on key issues including trade, investment, regional security, and the fight against terrorism.
According to Ghana News Agency, the bilateral meeting also focused on France's support for maternal health and agriculture in Ghana, as well as the improvements in Ghana's economy under President Mahama's leadership. The President's delegation includes Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Foreign Minister; Mr. Douglas Prosper Bani, the National Security Advisor; and Dr. Callistus Mahama, the Executive Secretary to the President.
Also accompanying President Mahama are Mrs. Joyce Bawa Mogtari, Presidential Advisor and Special Aide to the President, and Madam Mavis Frimpong, Ghana's Ambassador to France. Later on Wednesday, the delegation is scheduled to hold talks with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace.
