Police Retrieve Lawyer’s Stolen Vehicle in Ashanti Region

Ashanti region: The Ghana Police Service in the Ashanti Region has successfully retrieved a stolen unregistered 2019 Honda CRV that belongs to a lawyer, Alfred Gyimah.

According to Ghana News Agency, the vehicle was reported stolen on April 2, 2026, from Mr. Gyimah's premises where it had been parked. The recovery of the vehicle was the result of an intelligence-led operation conducted by the Police Intelligence Directorate (PID).

The police brief revealed that covert intelligence operations led to the successful recovery of the vehicle along the Bohyen-Asoufia Highway at Asobonteng, near Kumasi Girls Senior High School, on April 4, 2026. Mr. Gyimah had reported the theft on April 3, 2026, prompting a police response.

The brief further explained that a team from the unit visited the crime scene and gathered intelligence indicating that the thief or thieves accessed Mr. Gyimah's apartment through the kitchen door. They then took the ignition keys from the dining table to steal the locked vehicle.

The police have stated that investigations are ongoing to locate and apprehend the suspect or suspects involved in the theft.
