Black Maidens to Open FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers Against Togo

Ghana: Ghana's women's national under-17 football team, the Black Maidens, will begin their campaign in the African qualifiers for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup with a two-legged first-round encounter against Togo.

According to Ghana News Agency, the first leg is scheduled for Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Stade de K©gu© in Lom©, with kickoff set for 4:00 p.m. The return leg would be played six days later at the Accra Sports Stadium, with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m.

The two matches form part of the opening stage of the Confederation of African Football's qualifying series, where national teams across the continent compete for places at the global tournament. The Black Maidens, one of Ghana's most successful female youth national teams, would be seeking a strong result away from home to improve their chances ahead of the decisive second leg in Accra.

A positive outcome over the two legs would move Ghana a step closer to returning to the world stage, as the team looks to re-establish itself among Africa's leading sides in women's youth football.
