Jomoro: Engineers and technical experts from the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), under the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation, have commenced work in the Jomoro Municipality of the Western Region to extend telecommunication networks to communities experiencing connectivity challenges. The project aims to connect these communities to reliable telecommunications services.
According to Ghana Web, the communities expected to benefit from the intervention include Adusuazo, Ebonloa, Twenen, Old Ankasa, and Elonyi. The others are Ellenda, New Kabenlasuazo, Nuba, Mpasem, Jaway, and Twearkor II. This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Benedict Boadi. The statement informed the general public, particularly residents of communities experiencing network challenges, about efforts to improve telecommunications connectivity within the municipality.
The statement added that a team of engineers and technical experts from GIFEC is currently in the municipality to begin work in communities facing network difficulties, with the aim of connecting them to reliable telecommunications services. This intervention has been made possible through the efforts and engagement of the Member of Parliament for Jomoro Constituency, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, who has remained committed to addressing the network challenges affecting several communities.
Boadi further disclosed that the Honourable Member of Parliament officially informed the Office of the MCE of this intervention recently. The technical team has already commenced work, beginning with Adusuazo, after which the remaining communities will be attended to. Residents are assured that by the close of the week, all affected communities are expected to have their network challenges significantly improved or fully resolved.
The statement also said the Assembly, on behalf of the affected communities, expresses its appreciation to the Member of Parliament for her efforts and dedication towards improving communication infrastructure in the municipality. Boadi further assured residents that the remaining communities without telecommunication networks would also be connected.
