Hohoe: Mr Prosper Kumi, Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has reiterated the commitment of the Assembly to building the prosperity of the country. He emphasized that the Assembly is focusing on infrastructure development, education, healthcare delivery, economic growth, and livelihood enhancement.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Kumi addressed the 69th Independence Day celebration at Gbi Atabu, stating the Assembly's extensive investment in sanitation and environmental management as a foundation for a stronger Municipality. He highlighted the importance of integrating prosperity with hope, suggesting that opportunities for young people and access to essential services like roads, water, education, and healthcare are crucial for restoring hope.
Mr Kumi underscored the importance of collaboration with traditional authorities, opinion leaders, youth groups, and development partners to ensure progress throughout the Municipality. He also stressed the significance of maintaining peace to foster development.
The event, themed 'Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope', featured Mr Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo, Hohoe Constituency Member of Parliament (MP), who spoke about the importance of celebrating independence beyond just freedom, but also honoring Dr Kwame Nkrumah, the founder. He acknowledged improvements in citizens' lives through collective efforts.
Mr Tsekpo urged constituents to be patient during the development phase and expressed concern over the Constituency's state in the past eight years, particularly road networks. He emphasized the necessity of good roads for economic growth and mentioned plans to support the Volta Regional Hospital's enhancement to better serve clients. He also noted ongoing efforts to tackle unemployment, with hopes of establishing two factories in the Constituency by 2028.
Deserving individuals who contributed to the Municipality's growth and development were honored with awards during the event.
