Accra: Keep Premium Solutions (KPS), a Ghanaian technology developer, has launched a cloud-based educational management and analytics platform designed specifically for the educational sector. The software, known as the 'Schools' Learning Outcome Analysis System (SLOAS) and the Regional Accountability System Software (RASS),' is tailored for use at both the Ghana Education Service (GES) school and administrative levels.
According to Ghana News Agency, during a stakeholder online adoption forum, David Holy Mensah-Aidams, the Board Chairman of KPS, highlighted the persistent challenges educational managers face in effectively collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data. These challenges hinder the implementation of the GES strategic plan and the delivery of quality outcomes for over six million students in basic schools. Mensah-Aidams emphasized the need for transformation in teaching and learning outcomes, particularly with the implementation of the standards-based curriculum (SBC) and the common core curriculum (CCC).
The SLOAS/RASS platform offers a data-driven approach for monitoring, evaluation, and policy decision-making, built on a deep understanding of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment's (NaCCA) curriculum framework, GES administrative structures, and the practical realities of schools. Mensah-Aidams assured stakeholders that KPS is prepared to support all Directorates with training, technical support, and ongoing system enhancements to facilitate the adoption process.
Atubga Agamba, the Director of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) at the National Teaching Council (NTC), acknowledged KPS as a compliant service provider and encouraged stakeholders to embrace the SLOAS/RASS software. He highlighted the app's ability to pinpoint subject-specific issues, aiding quick resolution of challenges in report writing.
Edwin Peter Ketormanya, an IT specialist at KPS, noted that SLOAS provides the data infrastructure required to measure progress against the Education Strategic Plan (ESP) 2018-2030 indicators, track equity metrics across districts, and report on learning outcome improvements. The software offers real-time student performance tracking, automated report card generation, comprehensive attendance monitoring, and more.
Francis Yao Agbemadi, the Volta Regional Director of Education, stated that the software's deployment would enhance the ability of education managers to monitor school performance indicators accurately and in real time. This initiative aims to strengthen governance structures, enhance performance monitoring, and improve the quality, integrity, and credibility of educational institutions.
The forum was attended by Directors of Education at various levels, the Conference of Teacher Union, and the Conference of Heads of Basic Schools.
