London: Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey has been charged with two new counts of rape following his appearance before the Crown Prosecution Service on February 12, 2026.
According to Ghana Web, the two additional charges refer to a separate report of non-recent offences in 2020 and a new probe being handled by the Metropolitan Police.
The new allegations were first reported in August 2025. Partey, who is currently playing for Villarreal, had previously denied earlier offences in court that allegedly occurred in 2021 and 2022 during his tenure with Arsenal. A spokesperson for the Crown Prosecution Service explained that the fresh charges are separate from the existing five counts of rape.
Partey is set to appear in court on March 13, 2026, for a hearing to respond to these charges. The spokesperson noted that the new charges involve a separate report of non-recent offences in 2020, involving one additional woman, and follow a new investigation by the Metropolitan Police. The allegations were first reported in August 2025, and Partey is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court for a first hearing.
