Adaklu: Mr Christopher Galenkui, the Assemblyman for Adaklu Wumenu Electoral Area in the Adaklu district, emphasized the critical role of education in eradicating poverty during his inspection of an ultra-modern Kindergarten block at the Adaklu Wumenu basic school.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Galenkui reiterated the importance of education in breaking barriers that hinder human development. The new kindergarten project, which includes two classrooms, a kitchen, three washrooms, a playground, and a well-fenced perimeter wall, is positioned as a vital investment in the community's future. Mr Jerry Yao Ameko, the Adaklu District Chief Executive, initiated the project on January 29, 2026, with an expected completion timeline of six months. The project is funded by the Assembly's Common Fund.
Mr Galenkui highlighted the significance of investing in early childhood education, noting its role in shaping the cognitive, social, and emotional development of children. He asserted that access to quality learning facilities would better position children from Adaklu to excel academically and contribute meaningfully to society.
He further described the kindergarten project as not just a modern structure but as laying a solid foundation for formal education in the area. "This project is a major step towards strengthening basic education in the area," Mr Galenkui stated.
The Assemblyman expressed his gratitude towards Mr Governs Kwame Agbodza, the Minister for Roads and Highways and Member of Parliament for Adaklu, and Mr Jerry Yao Ameko, the District Chief Executive, for their commitment to prioritizing education. He praised their support as a demonstration of visionary leadership and genuine concern for the future of Adaklu's children.
Mr Galenkui also commended the contractor for the progress made so far, describing the project as a significant milestone for the community.
