Dambai: The Oti Regional Police Command has seized 4,000 parcels of substances suspected to be narcotics. This was contained in a press release issued on February 11, 2026, which also stated that the operation happened at Dambai on February 10, 2026.
According to Ghana Web, officers acting on intelligence intercepted and searched a DAF Long Trailer with registration number GW 1943-09. Although the truck appeared empty during the initial search, further investigation revealed compartments sealed with six metal plates.
The statement highlighted that the concealed compartments beneath the trailer were opened in the presence of suspect Amidu Jubril, aged 40. A search in these secret compartments led to the discovery of 4,000 parcels of compressed dried leaf substances wrapped in a yellow masking tape, suspected to be narcotics.
The truck has been seized, and all the substances have been retained as evidence. The Oti Regional Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to combating drug trafficking and related activities in the region. The suspect is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
