Takoradi Technical University Takes TVET Advocacy to Takoradi Technical Institute

Takoradi: Professor Kweku Safo-Ankama, the Director of Quality Assurance and Academic Planning at Takoradi Technical University (TTU), has described Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a blend of theoretical instructions, hands-on practical training, and positive work attitudes for optimum results. He explained that TVET prepared learners for direct entry into employment, self-employment, and entrepreneurship, as well as equipping them with the adaptability required to meet future skills demands. According to Ghana News Agency, the Director of Quality Assurance and Academic Planning was speaking with students of the Takoradi Technical Institute (TTI) as part of the University's efforts to promote Technical and Vocational Education and Training among Ghanaians. The session, under the theme 'Transforming Lives through TVET Skills', attracted more than a thousand students and staff of the institute. Prof. Safo-Ankama urged the students to consider Takoradi Technical University as the best de stination for post-secondary TVET education, citing the University's industry-driven programmes, strong quality assurance systems, and commitment to producing competent graduates. He also introduced the students to the National TVET Qualification Framework and explained the clear progression pathways available, from certificates and diplomas to higher academic degrees. Prof. Safo-Ankama encouraged the students to acquire practical and entrepreneurial skills that would enable them to create jobs, improve upon livelihoods, and employ others. He noted the importance of teamwork and critical thinking required to succeed in a rapidly changing technological environment.
