Salaga: The Member of Parliament for Salaga North in the Savannah Region, Alhaji Alhassan Mumuni, has taken an impactful step in supporting education by paying the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) mock examination fees for 2,382 final-year students in the constituency. The MP presented a cheque amounting to Twenty-Seven Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS27,000.00) to the Salaga North District Education Directorate to cover the district-wide examination costs.
According to Ghana Web, the initiative by Alhaji Mumuni aims to alleviate the financial burden on parents, enhance academic performance, and adequately prepare BECE candidates for their national examinations. He encouraged the students to utilize this opportunity to revise their studies and prepare thoroughly for the exams, expressing confidence that they will make the district proud.
Alhaji Alhassan Mumuni has a history of supporting educational initiatives in the constituency. He has provided financial assistance from his Common Fund to needy but brilliant students and promoted girls' education through material support. Recently, forty needy but brilliant students benefited from a total of Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS20,000.00) from the MP's Common Fund.
In addition, the MP has initiated a bicycle support program to help female students who travel long distances to school, especially those attending institutions such as the KM Model Girls School. The Salaga North District Education Directorate, on behalf of the BECE candidates, expressed gratitude to Alhaji Alhassan Mumuni for his ongoing support and contribution to education in the district.
