Lagos: Nigerian singer, Chidozie Godsfavour Ugochinyere, known as Fave, has sounded an alarm regarding a purported directive preventing artistes from organizing shows in Nigeria during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
According to Ghana Web, Fave expressed her frustration over the situation, as her plans to hold a show on her birthday, March 13, are at risk due to the alleged restrictions on music concerts during Ramadan. The 'Baby Riddim' singer shared her confusion on her social media platform, X, questioning the prohibition of shows during this religious period.
Fave further disclosed that her show proposals have faced consistent rejections from promoters, who cited Ramadan as the reason for their refusal. She expressed her dismay over the impact of Ramadan on her professional endeavors, highlighting that, as a Christian, she was unfamiliar with Ramadan practices until her late teens. She reiterated her respect for all religions but appealed for support in organizing her birthday show, emphasizing her desire to proceed with the event as planned.
