Kumasi: The Head Pastor of the Kumasi Branch of Conquerors Chapel International, Prophet Emmanuel Worlasi, has been captured celebrating with his family after what he described as the fulfillment of his prophecy, following the close of polls in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries on January 31, 2026. The prophet, who had consistently prophesied prior to the election that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, a former Vice President, would win the primaries, was seen jubilating with his family.
According to Ghana Web, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has once again emerged victorious in the NPP presidential primaries, securing the party's flagbearer position for the upcoming 2028 general elections. A blue cake inscribed with the words 'Prophecy Fulfilled' was displayed during the celebration, highlighting the pastor's belief in the accuracy of his prediction.
The official results, released by the Electoral Commission after the close of polls on January 31, 2026, revealed that Dr. Bawumia garnered 110,645 votes, representing 56.48% of the total votes. His closest contender, former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, obtained 46,554 votes, amounting to 23.76%.
Dr Bryan Acheampong followed with 36,303 votes, which accounted for 18.53%, while Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum received 1,999 votes, making up 1.02%. Kwabena Agyapong secured 402 votes, representing a mere 0.21%.
In total, over 211,000 delegates cast their ballots across more than 300 polling centres nationwide in what was described as a keenly contested race to determine the party's flagbearer for future elections.
