GES Finalizes Promotion Arrangements for Director-Level Teachers

Accra: The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the successful completion of arrangements for promoting qualified staff, particularly teachers, to the ranks of Director II and Director I.

According to Ghana News Agency, a statement from Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at GES, confirmed that a committee comprising representatives from GES, the Public Services Commission, the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, and PricewaterhouseCoopers has submitted its final report to GES Management. The process included extensive consultations with relevant stakeholders and significant input from Teacher Unions.

GES has stated that the initial call for applications and the aptitude test for the promotion to Director II and Director I ranks will be announced by the end of the first quarter of this year. Unlike previous practices, these promotions are no longer limited by the availability of office vacancies.

The statement reiterated that this initiative aligns with a commitment made by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama to the nation’s teachers. Further details and guidelines regarding the promotions will be shared through official GES channels.
