Accra: Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is poised to be elected as the Flagbearer of the NPP, with just a week remaining before the primaries, according to findings from Global InfoAnalytics.
According to Ghana Web, its latest committed voters model survey indicates that Dr. Bawumia is nearing a decisive victory, although a significant portion of voters remain undecided. The survey, released on Friday afternoon, reveals that Bawumia's support has increased from 44% to 48% since the last poll. His nearest rival, Kennedy Agyapong, has maintained his position at 25%.
The survey further details that Dr. Bryan Acheampong holds 6% of the vote, Dr. Osei Adutwum stands at 1%, while Kwabena Agyapong is at approximately 0%. Notably, Bawumia is just 2% away from achieving the crucial 50% plus one victory threshold, while 21% of delegates have not disclosed their voting intentions.
The polls suggest that Dr. Bawumia needs to secure only 2% from the 21% of undecided voters to clinch victory. The committed voters model reveals that Bawumia has established a strong lead in 14 out of the 16 regions, with exceptions being the Central and Volta Regions.
With the election approaching, Global InfoAnalytics has announced plans to release its final prediction for the NPP primaries soon, based on its predictive model.
