Accra: The son of renowned gospel legend Yaw Sarpong has revealed that his father died without knowing about the passing of his close associate, Maame Tiwaa. The family chose to keep this information from Yaw Sarpong due to concerns about his health and emotional well-being.
According to Ghana Web, the son shared in an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM that despite the widespread circulation of Maame Tiwaa's death on social media, Yaw Sarpong remained in the dark as he was not active online. The family made a deliberate decision not to inform him, fearing it might adversely affect his condition.
He elaborated that the bond between Yaw Sarpong and Maame Tiwaa was profound and had developed over several decades. This deep connection was a significant factor in the family's decision to withhold the news from him. The son explained that the family was concerned that the emotional impact of the news might have been detrimental to Yaw Sarpong's health.
He further conveyed that their priority was Yaw Sarpong's recovery, and they believed that exposing him to such distressing news could hinder his healing process. This protective measure was seen as necessary to safeguard his well-being during his final days.
